Perspective

Bearded Dragons are not very maternal or paternal creatures. Generally, once the female dragon lays her eggs, the unborn hatch-lings are left to fend for themselves. Dragons have also been known to consume their little ones. Knowing this, we haven't allowed our adults dragons within harms way of the babies. However, today, we did allow our male dragon to see the babies in their tank. He didn't act weird at all. No drooling over the small little morsels or fighting to get to them. I snapped a picture to show the size difference. It's so weird thinking that Twiggy(adult male) is only a year old, and when we purchased him, he was just as tiny as his babies.

Twiggy is standing behind the tank unable to get to the babies.

Update on the Babies

We put the babies in a smaller tank today. They were all sort of huddling in one corner of the 40 gallon tank, and basking under the lamp. So, we down graded to a 20 gallon where they can spread out and still stay super warm. They'll also have an easier time finding their food this way.

Finally!

The last of our baby beardies have hatched. All but one has been placed into there regular tank. They're all so stinkin' cute. They're curious and active, running laps around there tank and cocking their heads to one side at the sight of something new. The baby left in the incubator has his sack still attached to him. Once it's absorbed, he will join his siblings. At this time, we're enjoying watching them. We peer into their tank with goofy smiles on our faces and "Oooo" and "Aaahhh" at them. I'm looking forward to watching them grow and learn in the next couple of weeks.

Also, Sydney is pregnant again. She's currently sitting inside her birthing tank. She stopped eating 3 days ago (a sign of it being time), and has been pacing her vivarium anxiously ever since. We've placed her in her birthing tank a few times these past few days, but she hasn't started digging out a burrow to lay the eggs, maybe today will be the day!

New Content

I've added a few new pages to check out. There's an About Me section, where you can learn all about my past and what's currently going on in my life. I LOVE my pets, and there's 2 sections that talk a little bit about my past pets and my current ones. There will be new pages added soon!
